Aim High, Fly High
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you all had a relaxing and delightful Christmas. I would like to send a massive thank you for the kind gifts that I received!
For our first text in English, we will be reading ‘Incredible Jobs You’ve (Probably) Never Heard Of’ and the children will be writing an exciting non-chronological report. Following this we will be reading ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ where the children will write an entertaining narrative! In History we will be learning about the Ancient Egyptians. In Science the Year 2s will be learning about living things and their habitats, and the Year 3s will be learning about rocks! I am especially looking forward to the Year 3/4/5 production in March, more information will be provided soon.
This term P.E. will remain as Mondays and Wednesdays. Children will still be required to attend school in PE Kit on these days. Please ensure that your child/ children have appropriate P.E. kit and that, for health and safety reasons, earrings are removed for P.E and that anyone with hair longer than shoulder length has their hair tied back.
Please ensure children bring a named bottle of water to drink during the day and that all uniform is named to avoid things getting lost.
Children will have an optional home learning task each half term along with details of required home learning tasks. We expect your children to read for 30 minutes a week. They are also expected to complete 30 minutes of Timetables Rockstars (passwords for this remain the same). If you would like any additional resources to support your children at home, then please contact me through the office.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via the school office or at the door at drop off or pick up. I am excited to begin the new calendar year and see what we can continue to achieve as Owls class.
Kind regards,
Miss Emma Barron
